Nick and Rachel have created the ecoYoga Centre at Inverliever Lodge as an expression of their belief in a healthy, happy, carbon free and sustainable lifestyle. The transformation from an old outdoor centre to its present incarnation as a luxurious but still genuinely 'eco' holiday experience is now complete. Set in magnificent Scottish scenery; hills, lochs, rivers and forests abound. The ecoYoga Centre is totally off-grid: powered by our 550Kw hydro turbine and a large bank of solar panels.
Gingi Lee will be running daily ashtanga yoga classes (all levels welcome) in the 50sqm shala, a purpose built studio with under floor heating and a very calming ambience. Your body can melt into the warmth of the floor during Savasana (deep relaxation at the end of a Yoga practice) whilst the mind is gently soothed by the sounds of the nearby waterfalls.
There are several bathing areas and showers to choose from. Inspired by the Japanese tradition of the 'Sento' or public bathing house you can soak in natural wooden hot tubs in the Dome, or choose some hideaway bathing spots in the forest or river bank.
ecoYoga food comes straight from the organic garden when in season. Occasionally a spontaneous fishing trip takes place and fish is served along with our delicious vegetarian dishes. The main dining room is in the communal chalet. The sun catching passive heating area is a wonderful place to hang out, to read or chat with fellow guests.
The workshop Cafe is another great place to hang out and make coffee and chat. The Cafe kitchen is also available to you if you wish to cook up some extra food.
Life at Inverliever Lodge is shaped by the seasons and the elements. If you would like to be involved in gardening, chopping wood, forest creation, fishing from boats and canoes, spotting ospreys or a myriad of other activities then you can. Click here for the Guardian review of this retreat
