We offer a number of options for beginners from regular beginners classes to early morning, weekend and evening introductory courses. We recommend wherever possible that students who are new, or relatively new, to ashtanga attend one of our beginners courses, before joining any of our other classes. Ashtanga Beginners Classes
This class accomodates those with limited experience of yoga. The first part of the primary series will be taught in depth and the focus will be on technique and refining the postures. From time to time the class will also touch on breath control (ujjayi breath) and internal core strength (bandhas), although this ground is covered in greater depth in our beginners courses. Wherever possible we prefer, complete beginners to do one of these courses before joining the regular beginners classes.
You can join this class at any time and we recommend you attend at least 8–12 beginners classes before moving on to the led or Mysore classes. Check with the teacher when you feel ready to move on.
